NYBDC is Selected as Business Partner of the Year at EWVIDCO's Annual Awards Celebration
On Wednesday, May 29th, NYBDC was honored as Business Partner of the Year at EWVIDCO’s Annual Celebration at the Brooklyn Bowl.
Pat MacKrell, NYBDC President and CEO, accepted the award by saying, “It’s an incredible honor to work with our staff, share their commitment and devotion to small businesses and it’s an incredible position to be in to observe the passion that they bring to small business lending each and every day.”
NYBDC and EWVIDCO have been working together for over 15 years to help small businesses in Brooklyn secure financing. Their most recent collaboration has been focused around the NYC Food Manufacturers Growth Fund.
“EWVIDCO is an exceptional partner and we look forward to working with them for businesses in Brooklyn for many years to come,” Pat MacKrell concluded.
EWVIDCO honored three local businesses as well. Jovani Fashion, selected as Business Leader of the Year, was founded in 1980, by Jacob Maslavi and is now run by his sons Abraham and Saul. The company designs and distributes women and girl’s dresses to more than 3,000 boutiques and department stores worldwide. The Brooklyn Winery, founded in 2010 and producer of small batch wines was honored as Emerging Business of the Year. Lastly, John Robles, EWVIDCO’s current Board President and President of Knights Collision, was honored as Community Leader of the Year.
In addition to honoring the award recipients, the night was filled with food, drinks, bowling, and an opportunity to come together and celebrate the Brooklyn community.
