As a loan officer in NYBDC's New York City office, Kevin specializes in providing U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 loans to businesses in all five boroughs. "I enjoy the interaction with small business owners," he says. "I like seeing how they operate, make money and affect the overall economy of New York State, and operate globally in some cases."
Before joining NYBDC's seven-person NYC office, Kevin was a small business relationship manager and team leader in Brooklyn for HSBC Bank. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from St. Francis College in Brooklyn and took additional courses at C.W. Post on Long Island. Educating partner banks and borrowers to the benefits of NYBDC programs is a key part of his job. "Many people don't understand the 504 program; it's really very streamlined," Kevin says. He markets NYBDC loan programs through community development corporations and business networking activities, and receives referrals from satisfied borrowers and partner bankers. Kevin lives in Franklin Square, N.Y., with his wife of 16 years and their two daughters, ages 14 and 11. "We have a white picket fence and a dog," he laughs. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys golf and participating in various martial arts. Working in partnership with JPMorgan Chase, he recently completed the successful $1.8 million financing of the renowned Manhattan jazz club Zinc Bar in its move to a Soho building that also houses an affiliated company. "I feel I have made a contribution in my short time here," says Kevin, who joined NYBDC in September 2006. |
