Pennie Smith Joins Western New York Lending Team Our loan activity in the Buffalo and Rochester areas has increased dramatically due to terrific support from our lending and community partners. Pennie comes to us from First Niagara Bank with a strong background in customer service and small business banking. Regional Manager Steve Willard will continue to maintain his contacts in and around Rochester but will now be assisted by Pennie who will be in the area on a full time basis. Welcome aboard Pennie! Mohawk Valley CDC and Empire State CDC: The 504 Company - Great Partners Empire State CDC: The 504 Company and Mohawk Valley CDC continue to work together to promote the SBA 504 Loan program in the Mohawk Valley. On May 16, 2007 we co-sponsored a reception for more than 30 bankers and economic developers at the Hotel Utica to announce our combined efforts to support our lending and community partners with creative, cost effective and responsive delivery of the 504 loan program. Employees of the Quarter Please join in congratulating Kathleen VanAnden and Lisa Lundquest as our Employees of the Quarter. Fortunately we could not bring ourselves to name just one! Kathy and Lisa are administrative assistants in our Loan Department. During a recent period of record breaking activity in our loan applications and approvals Kathy and Lisa provided efficient and effective support to our loan officers and management in the preparation and processing of loan reports. During much of the period we were also short a staff member. Thanks and congratulations to Lisa and Kathy for a job well done! We are proud to have you on our team! Statewide Zone Capital Corporation Expands Board of Directors 
In an effort to expand the reach of this loan program the Statewide Zone Capital Corporation of New York (SZCC) expanded its Board of Directors to include a number of economic developers and investor representatives. We would like to welcome the following to the SZCC board:
Lenders of the Year  At our Annual Dinner held on June 26, 2007 we honored John Kraus of Mahopac National Bank as our NYBDC Lender of the Year and Warren Krug of Bank of America as our Empire State CDC: The 504 Company Lender of the Year. Each of these bankers have worked with us extensively to promote access to capital to New York's small businesses and have been effective and professional advocates for their customers. Congratulations to John and Warren! Community Partner of the Year 
In our Community Partner Program we work with economic development entities and share revenue on our joint projects. In the last year we have grown from 60 to more than 90 Community Partners many of which are playing a significant role in the development of projects financed by NYBDC or Empire State CDC: The 504 Company and our lending partners. In order to recognize this contribution of our Community Partners we have initiated a "Community Parnter of the Year" award. The inaugural award goes to Cortland County Business Development Corporation. Under the leadership of Executive Director Linda Dickerson Hartsock, Cortland County BDC-IDA is an effective and creative partner with our loan programs and a tireless advocate of Cortland County and Central New York. Thanks to Cortland County BDC-IDA for your work to make New York a better place to live and work.
Welcome Aboard During the last few months we welcomed Stephanie Diaz and Rhonda Borrelli as administrative assistants in the Loan Department, Carmen Rodriquez (a 2007 graduate of The College of Saint Rose) as an analyst in our NYC office and Ross Pancoe (a 2007 graduate of Siena College) as an analyst in our Albany office. Both Carmen and Ross interned in our Loan Servicing Department during their college year. |
