Shmaltz Brewing Comes to Saratoga County
Shmaltz Brewing has opened its first brewery and tasting room in Clifton Park after 17 years of having its beers – He’Brew and Coney Island – produced by a contract brewer.
The financing to bring the $3.2 million project to Clifton Park was provided by Ballston Spa National Bank with the help of a U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loan processed through Empire State Certified Development Corporation.
Patrick MacKrell, President and CEO of Empire State CDC, noted, “The craft brewing business is robust and we are thrilled to be helping the brewing industry, and Shmaltz specifically, grow and prosper in New York State.”
The brewery boasts a 50-barrel brewhouse with a 20,000-barrel-per-year production capacity. The company also plans to offer barrel-aged beers as well as limited bourbon, rye whiskey and tequila products.
“This is the culmination of years of hard work building our brands and sharing our passion for beer with our loyal and growing customer base across the United States. We are proud to call Saratoga County our home and look forward to new and innovative craft brew options that we can create with our new plant and team of dedicated employees. We are especially happy to have a tasting room where the public can sample our products,” said Jeremy Cowan, Shmaltz Brewing’s owner.
The brewery and tasting room are located at 6 Fairchild Square, Clifton Park. Click here to read more about the ribbon cutting ceremony.
