NYBDC Attends Brooklyn Eats: Brooklyn's First Food and Beverage Trade Show
More than one hundred food manufacturers came together in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn to showcase their products at Brooklyn Eats. The event, which took place yesterday at the former Pfizer building, is the borough’s first food and beverage trade show. Brooklyn Eats first began in 1997 as a showcase for Brooklyn-based restaurants and quickly became a success. This year, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce rebranded Brooklyn Eats and shifted its focus from restaurants to food and drink manufacturers throughout Brooklyn.
NYBDC sponsored Brooklyn Eats and was in attendance to help food entrepreneurs gain awareness of the financing options available to help their businesses grow. NYBDC administers the NYC Food Manufacturers Growth Fund, a $10 million loan program created in partnership with Goldman Sachs and NYCEDC, and is geared specially towards food manufacturers in New York City. Food businesses are an integral part of the Brooklyn community and have become one of the fastest growing industries. Brooklyn Eats allowed for these brands to come together in one space and promote their business.
