Curt Solomon bids farewell
I am truly saddened to announce that I have left NYBDC, effective the end of October. My wife and I, and our two boys, have relocated to Richmond, Virginia. My wife has accepted a senior management position in Development at the University of Richmond. It is an incredible career opportunity for her. As for me, as much as I wanted to stay with NYBDC, the commute wasn’t feasible. Therefore, I will be accepting a position with a 504 company that covers the Mid-Atlantic Region.
NYBDC has been my home for thirteen years. In fact, it is my only employer since graduating from Skidmore College. It is easy to be loyal to a company that treats their employees with the utmost respect and provides them with the opportunities to grow professionally. It is easy to work for a company that has such a strong and important mission where there is much personal gratification. Most importantly, it is easy to come to work everyday when you love what you do, you are surrounded by great, dedicated and thoughtful people and feel that you are part of something special.
I want to thank Bob Lazar for giving me the opportunity at NYBDC. He took a big risk in hiring me. In fact, I was so “green,” I thought pari-passu was a dessert. I appreciate his confidence in me, giving me many opportunities over the years. I want to thank Dave Terrenzio and Andrew Linehan for all of their mentoring over the years. They were always there for guidance whether it was work related or not. They have been instrumental in our success over the years, training the exceptional and experienced lending staff that is at NYBDC today. Lastly, I would like to thank Pat MacKrell for his trust and confidence. He has given me and several others the ability to grow professionally and take on new challenges with the implementation of the regional manager concept. This has paid huge dividends for the company and has set up the management structure for the company’s continued growth that is expected under Pat’s leadership.
I will always be grateful and proud of my time at NYBDC. I wish everyone at NYBDC and all of our partners across the state the best of luck.
Curt Solomon
