Employee Spotlight
Every month we will introduce a new employee and discuss the
contributions they make to NYBDC and the communities in which
they live. This month we are proud
to introduce:
Richard
Amsterdam, Assistant Vice President
Rich
joined NYBDC in May of 2006 in the Melville, Long
Island office. He works with our lending partners along
with six other loan officers in our Long Island and New York
City offices. He is responsible for providing loans to
businesses in Nassau, Suffolk, Kings and Queens counties.
Rich has nearly nine years experience in banking and finance,
most recently at M&T Bank’s Business & Professional Banking. He obtained his
Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Banking and
Finance from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY and also
received his Master of Science degree in Banking, with honors
from Mercy College in New York, NY.
While enjoying his work, Rich also enjoys spending time with
his wife Robyn and 10-month old son Anthony. In his spare
time, he enjoys golf, winemaking, carpentry and cooking. He
is a board member of the Corporate Development Council at Hofstra University, and is active with various
diabetes
charities, co-chairing the "Banking on the Cure" program
through the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
“I find a sense of pride in helping small businesses grow
though our partnership with their bank. Helping them access
capital that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, can
really make a difference.”
